Ladies Retreat....City Cowgirl Style

Emilie and Arjhana did an EXCELLENT job on our retreat! We had such a blast!!!
Our fun began on Friday morning at around 6:30 am. We drove for a good 3 and a half hours to get there...on the way we stopped at Subway for lunch and then headed straight to Emilie's parent's cabin!
As we were pulling in the views were breathtaking, the company GREAT, and the excitement was abounding! We pulled in and got our things together..so we were ready for a fun adventure!
Emilie's Dad (George) and his friend (Dick) were our tour guides and helped us along with our semi cowgirl style camp out! We left from the cabin on horses with our stuff being brought up to us in her dad's truck.
Heather's horse was wild, crazy, and sassy as can be ~ we couldn't have picked a better fit for her! :) Emilie's horse was steady with a quick trot...but tried to show off by getting ahead most of the time. Jacki's horse was quick on the kick and didn't like to be behind others. Candace's horse had a hard time keeping up but gave it the best effort he had...He did not like being far from Jacki's horse...nearly bouncing Candace right off the first day! Arjhana's horse as she said was nearly perfect...but extremely distracted and didn't care about keeping up just as long as he was able to take in the scenery.
We enjoyed the beauty all along the trail and couldn't have asked for better weather through our whole trip! We surely were blessed because it was in the forecast for thunder showers...we only had a few sprinkles the entire time! It was so neat to get together and visit with everyone about life, family, friends, and just being silly!
We arrived at the camp sight at about 6:00 and began dinner we had t-bone steak, Alfredo, and baked potatoes! YUMMY! For dessert we had Cherry Cobbler and smores of course! We had fun stories around the campfire...George and Dick said we were worse than boy scouts! That's good right? hahaha
We thought we were tired...that is until we reached our beds. Arjhana was quick to sleep but the rest of us had the giggles! We had so much fun telling stories, making up silly names, and just having fun! We were so loud that we didn't even hear George yell for us to "shutup"! Along with that Emilie seemed to have drank way too many liquids before going to bed...she went 4 times in less than a few hours! The worst part of it was that her cot was in the back and so EVERY time she had to pee she literally CRAWLED all over us...not politely trying to sneak by..but CRAWLED all over us! It actually was pretty funny now looking back! Toward the end of all of our giggles we heard noises and began being nervous...Heather SCREAMED GEORGE! Poor George checked it out...aiming his flashlight and said there wasn't anything...but we knew he was wrong! :)
In the morning we discovered the horses got out of the coral! We were right! We did hear animals near by! We felt a little proud to have been right...because we seemed like silly kids being nervous at first! :) Heather helped us make a discovery! We found out she was part of the Shidt family. It was so neat to hear about all of her ancestry!!!! We began breakfast...Pancakes, omelet, hash browns, bacon and all the other trimmings! IT WAS DELICIOUS!
We then went on a 30-45 minute trail ride and had so much fun! We enjoyed all the forest, seeing elk, and wildlife "stumps" (thanks for the pointing out Heather), and so much more! We were even able to gallop the horses in the wide open field we saw! It was so much FUN! Then we headed back to camp and snacked a little bit. Then headed back to the cabin!
The trek back to the cabin was a bit tough...we had began feeling all the aches and pains that a long ride could bring. But still SOOO MUCH FUN! It was really neat to visit along the way and just be able to enjoy the nature!
After we arrived we showered! YEAH! We were a little stinky! And then we ate Corn Chowder and rolls! It was delicious! After winding down for the trip we all were so tired! We sat on the couch and had a GREAT POW WOW! It is so fun to visit with this group of 5! We didn't go to bed till almost 12:00!
We didn't waste too much time getting to bed...because we had early morning church! George was speaking! So we hit the sack and then woke up the next morning very early! We all got ourselves prettied up and went to church! The drive to church was BEAUTIFUL! There was the greatest sunflowers and views all along the way!
After church, we went to the cabin. Arjhana wouldn't be Arjhana if she hadn't decided it was picture time! She had us taking all sorts of fun shots! I will post them a bit later when I get them!
This group of 5 is so much fun! We all like the same kinds of foods, we all can be ourselves, and let's face it...you know you are in good company when you can spend that kind of time with 5 women and still be ready to plan for another fun trip!
You all ROCK! Thanks again for all the fun times and happy memories!
